The Challenge
Daniëlle van de Donk is one of the leading figures in women’s football. Captain of the Netherlands national team, key player for Olympique Lyonnais and an inspiration to fans around the world, she represents a generation of athletes who have helped redefine the visibility and perception of the women’s game.
The ambition behind this documentary series was to tell the story beyond the achievements on the pitch. Through an intimate long-form narrative, we set out to capture the journey of a player who turned a childhood dream into a remarkable career.
Our Approach
We followed Daniëlle van de Donk over several years, documenting the daily life of an elite athlete. The series takes an intimate and immersive approach, moving between competition, training, personal projects and quieter moments away from the spotlight.
This long-term perspective reveals the many facets of her life : the player, the captain, the role model and the woman surrounded by her family, teammates and supporters.
